Tineco Pure One Air PET+ test: The savior for pet owners?

Oct 29, 2024

For me as a pet owner, a classic cordless vacuum cleaner is essential in addition to a robot vacuum cleaner and mop. Otherwise, the hair of my golden retriever lying around the entire apartment would drive me crazy. In the Tineco Pure One Air PET+ test, I was allowed to try out a cordless vacuum cleaner that is explicitly aimed at pet owners. Not only good suction power, but also the tried-and-tested Zero Tangle technology of the main brush should ensure comprehensive cleaning success. Does the plan work in practice? We’ll tell you!

With the Tineco Pure One Air PET+, the popular manufacturer of smart household helpers remains true to its design line. The cordless vacuum cleaner is clearly reminiscent of other models such as the Pure One Air Pro(test). The appliance is mainly made of high-quality plastic, which comes in a sophisticated matt white. Visual highlights in black round off the overall look, as does the extension rod, which is reminiscent of brushed aluminum.

This combination ensures the usual high-quality look that we are familiar with from other models from the manufacturer. The design is also familiar. The motor unit is located in the upper area and has a total of two buttons. The button labeled “Auto/Max” is used to switch between the two suction modes.

The suction process is started and stopped using the trigger, which is activated with the index finger. The trigger does not need to be held down, but simply tapped once. In addition to a small color display, the motor unit also includes a 300 ml dust container. Either the extension pole or an attachment can be attached to the motor unit itself.

The plug connections snap into place very easily, which is confirmed with a satisfying click. Like the motor unit itself, the main brush, 2-in-1 nozzle, upholstery brush and mini power brush of the Tineco Pure One Air PET+ also score points with their excellent workmanship. The same applies to the base, which also accommodates all components.

The qualification as a PET gadget is given to Tineco’s own devices, which are aimed specifically at pet owners. The best example is the Tineco Floor One S6 Flashdry PET(test), which comes as a vacuum cleaner with a fine-mesh filter that filters out pet hair. The Air One PET+ also relies on a powerful filter.

The four-stage HEPA filter technology ensures that 99.97 percent of dust is filtered out. This is particularly interesting for allergy sufferers. However, the cordless vacuum cleaner also earns its qualification as a tailor-made gadget for pet owners thanks to its main brush.

This is based on the tried-and-tested Zero Tangle technology, which is designed to effectively prevent hair tangling. After a week of use, it became clear that the plan was working. My dog’s hair ended up in the dirt container and didn’t get tangled up in the main brush in the first place. However, if hair does get caught in the wrong place, you can use the practical cleaning tool that Tineco includes in the scope of delivery.

Anyone who has already had the opportunity to try out the Tineco Floor One S7 Pro(test) will know that the manufacturer knows how to build impressive displays. The Pure One Air PET+ also has a screen. However, this is not only significantly smaller than the flagship vacuum cleaner, but also more rudimentary in terms of its informative value. For example, the results of the iLoop dirt sensor are not displayed at the edge of the screen.

Instead, Tineco uses a horizontal bar that is red or blue depending on the degree of soiling. This bar is just as permanently visible as the battery level. Unfortunately, there is no percentage for the latter. Instead, a battery indicator with just three individual sections is used. This makes it quite difficult for me as a user to estimate how long the vacuum cleaner will last.

Between the sensor bar and the battery bar, the word “MAX” indicates that MAX mode is currently switched on. If nothing is written here, the cordless vacuum cleaner is currently operating in Auto mode. Those who are not new to the world of Tineco will be very familiar with the manufacturer’s iLoop dirt sensor. Here, the vacuum cleaner scans the floor and analyzes its degree of soiling. The results can then be read on the display for self-monitoring.

The cordless vacuum cleaner comes with two different suction modes. Firstly, it offers an auto mode, which uses the results of the dirt sensor as a source. Depending on the degree of dirt, the vacuum cleaner then automatically adjusts the suction power. To enable users to get the most out of the household helper themselves, it also offers a MAX mode. Here it constantly calls up the highest power at the first attempt.

The main brush of the Tineco Pure One Air PET+ has a practical LED light. This is not premium laser technology such as that offered by a Dreame Z30(test). This means that fine dust may be overlooked. However, the LED unit is always helpful.

At least in areas under furniture. And this is where the cordless vacuum cleaner really shines. As the vacuum cleaner’s motor unit weighs just under 1.2 kg, it can be moved around the home with ease. The compact dimensions also ensure that you can easily reach the area underneath flat furniture.

Let’s move on to practice. In the test, I used the Tineco on hard floors (tiles, vinyl, parquet) as well as on the short-pile carpet in my hallway. There is really little to complain about here. It can flex its muscles, especially with everyday dust and pet hair. As usual, the manufacturer does not provide a real Pascal value. However, the technical data shows that it does have a good rating of 270 watts.

Of course, in-house flagships such as a Pure One Station(test) or a Pure One S15 Pro(test) have much more to offer here. However, the performance was completely sufficient for my needs. I then simulated a little dirt in the endurance test. I first had the cordless vacuum cleaner vacuum up oatmeal, rice and cat litter. It had no problems with this. I then tried it with slightly larger cornflakes.

Here, I discovered that it was difficult for the Tineco to lift solids that were too large. The smart household helper simply left them on the floor, which is why I had to pick them up manually. This can be attributed not only to insufficient power, but also to the rather small main brush. Thick pieces simply don’t fit through here.

Anyone who regularly has to deal with coarse dirt should keep this in mind. The attachments are impressive and can be used in a variety of ways. As the name suggests, the 2-in-1 tool can be used for two cleaning scenarios. The attached bristles can be used to remove dirt from sensitive surfaces and keyboards.

If you pull down the bristles, you get a narrow rod that can be used to clean narrow corners and niches. And not just in manual mode. The extension rod can also be used to reach ceilings and remove cobwebs, for example. The mini power brush is perfect for upholstered furniture and car seats.

According to Tineco, the battery of the Pure One Air PET+ lasts an impressive 60 minutes. Of course, these figures are always best times, which the device can only achieve under perfect and, above all, clinically clean conditions. The whole thing is made even more difficult by the fact that the vacuum cleaner does not have an Eco mode, which works at a constant low power level by default. The lowest level is the auto mode, which does not call up constant power, but adapts the suction power to the conditions.

Constant low power is only available here if the floor is clean and pure right from the start, which is extremely rare in reality. In my test, the Tineco lasted just under 40 minutes in auto mode with varying degrees of dirt, which is an excellent value. I can confirm the charging time of just under six hours, as stated by Tineco itself. However, I have to complain about the fact that the battery is not replaceable. This means that the entire device is worthless if the battery is faulty. The manufacturer proves that it can do better with its One S15 Pro.

The Tineco Pure One Air PET+ is a high-quality cordless vacuum cleaner that has been specially developed for pet households. It impresses with its Zero Tangle technology, which effectively prevents hair from getting tangled in the brush. The elegant design in matt white and intuitive operation make it not only attractive but also user-friendly. The vacuum cleaner offers two modes: an auto mode with the iLoop dirt sensor, which adjusts the suction power, and a MAX mode for maximum power.

It delivers really good suction power on various floors. However, larger particles such as cornflakes can pose a challenge. With its fairly long battery life in auto mode, it is suitable for extensive cleaning, even if the six-hour charging time and non-replaceable battery are weaknesses. Overall, the Tineco Pure One Air PET+ is an excellent choice for pet owners looking for an efficient and convenient cleaning solution.

The Tineco Pure One Air PET+ is a highly recommended vacuum cleaner for all pet owners. A replaceable battery would round off the great overall package.
